Jorge Taiana
Jorge Taiana currently serves as deputy of the Mercosur Parliament and will become national senator for the province of Buenos Aires on December 10, 2019. He previously served as Argentina’s minister of foreign affairs, international trade and worship (2005-2010) and executive secretary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights of the OAS (1996-2001). He has also served as deputy foreign minister, ambassador of Argentina to Guatemala, chief of staff of the Ministry of Education, and advisor to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies. Mr. Taiana holds a degree in sociology from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).

He has also served as deputy foreign minister, ambassador of Argentina to Guatemala, chief of staff of the Ministry of Education, and advisor to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies. He is general director for the Center of International Political Studies, and director of the Human Rights and Democratization Program at the University of San Martin. Mr. Taiana holds a degree in sociology from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).
