Khoo Teng Chye is the executive director of the Centre for Liveable Cities for the Ministry of National Development in Singapore. He has previously held the positions of chief executive officer of PUB, Singapore’s national water agency, chief executive officer/chief planner at the Urban Redevelopment Authority, and chief executive officer/group president of PSA Corporation. He was also president and chief executive officer of Mapletree Investments and managing director of Special Projects at Temasek Holdings. Chye currently serves as the chairman of Singapore International Water Week and sits on the Boards of the International Desalination Association, GDF Suez’s Urban Strategy Council, and the Advisory Board of the World Future Foundation, among others. He is an adjunct professor at the Nanyang Technological University and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. Chye was awarded the Public Administration (Gold) in 1996 and the Public Administration (Silver) in 1987 by the Singapore government. He was also conferred the Meritorious Service Award by the National Trade Union Congress in 2008 for his contributions to the Singapore Labour Movement. Chye holds a degree in civil engineering from Monash University, Australia, an M.S. in construction engineering, and an MBA from the National University of Singapore. He is a fellow of the Institution of Engineers in Singapore.
