Lex Malas is co-head of Global Banking, North America at HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., a subsidiary of HSBC Holdings plc. In this role, he manages a team of over 300 professionals across a variety of product and coverage groups, including teams on the ground in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Toronto. Malas began his career at HSBC in 2010, as co-head of Leveraged & Acquisition Finance, Americas. His career has included senior roles across the full range of HSBC’s investment banking businesses, where he has led successful deal teams across client coverage, credit and risk, M&A advisory, and capital markets. Malas has also served as head of US and European High Yield Origination, and most recently as head of Capital Financing North America. Prior to joining HSBC, he held managing director roles at Gleacher & Co., Deutsche Bank, UBS, and Goldman Sachs, where he spent 15 years and started his career. Malas holds a BA from John Hopkins University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
