Mariana Atencio
Mariana Atencio is a co-anchor for the Morning Show on Fusion. Before this position, she worked as a journalist for Univision. She has covered various topics such as the political conventions in the United States, the secrets of the Vatican, and the Deferred Action for Dreamers or Soñadores, who benefited from a measure that stops their deportations and grants them temporary work permits. Previously, she worked as a reporter and anchor at V-me TV, where she led the special “Census 2010: The Future Is Now.” She also participated in the live coverage of the midterm elections in the United States in 2010 and the British Royal Wedding in 2011. Atencio began her journalism career at El Diario/La Prensa in New York and was a correspondent for the Venezuelan Globovision chain in the United States. She holds a degree from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas, Venezuela and a Master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Columbia University, where she is currently completing a Master’s program in Latin American studies.
