Martín Guzmán
Martín Guzmán is the Argentine economy minister. He is an expert on sovereign debt restructuring, with a specific interest in the sovereign debt crises in Argentina and Greece.
Guzmán is also currently a researcher at the Columbia Business School and is Columbia’s director of the Debt Restructuring Program of the Initiative for Policy Dialogue. Alongside Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz, he has directed the initiative’s academic training program.
He is an associate professor of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires and full professor of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National University of La Plata.
Guzmán was born in La Plata and holds a doctorate in economics from Brown University. He also holds bachelor's and master’s degrees in economics from the National University of La Plata, Argentina.
