Maurício Borges
Maurício Borges is the current president of Apex-Brasil, appointed by President Dilma Rousseff. He took office on February 22. With over 15 years of experience in foreign trade, Borges held positions such as innovation coordinator and foreign affairs manager at the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) and foreign trade manager at Sebrae-SP, where he coordinated foreign trade activities of 25 affiliated agencies. As part of the technical staff of Apex-Brasil, he has been a technical manager and business director at the agency, and he has organized and coordinated integrated sector projects aimed at trade promotion in partnership with trade associations of several sectors of the Brazilian economy. A specialist in international and trade law, Borges received a degree in law from the Universidade de São Paulo, and holds a Ph.D. in international law as well as a master’s degree in European trade law from the University of Bristol, England.
