Néstor Popolizio
Néstor Popolizio Bardales is the minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru. A career diplomat with 37 years of experience, Popolizio earned a degree in international relations from the Peruvian Diplomatic Academy, as well as a bachelor’s in law from the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM). At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has held the roles of undersecretary for American Affairs (2006–2009) and viceminister of Foreign Affairs on two occasions from 2009 to 2011 and from 2016 to 2018. Abroad he has held the posts of ambassador of Peru to Portugal and Colombia. Between 1995 and 1999, Poplizio served as principal advisor during the peace negotiations with Ecuador, as well as in the lead up to signing the Act of Lima with Chile.
Néstor Popolizio Bardales es el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores y un diplomático de carrera con 37 años de experiencia. En el exterior ha sido embajador del Perú en Portugal y Colombia. En Cancillería, Popolizio se ha desempeñado como subsecretario para Asuntos de América (2006–2009) y viceministro de Relaciones Exteriores, cargo que ha ocupado en el período 2009–2011 y 2016–2018. Destaca su labor entre los años 1995 y 1999 como asesor principal en las negociaciones de Paz con Ecuador y para la firma con Chile del Acta de Lima. Popolizio es licenciado en relaciones internacionales por la Academia Diplomática del Perú y Bachiller en Derecho por la Universidad de San Marcos.
