Philip Sanders is the bureau chief for Bloomberg News in Santiago, Chile and the deputy team leader for the macro-economic and government team in Latin America. His position handles the economic copy out of Chile, including the major statistics such as inflation and growth. He is also responsible for much of the copy out of Mexico, Colombia, and Peru and he has regularly reported on the Pacific Alliance. Previously, Sanders was an editor on the Africa and Eastern European debt, maintaining his involvement in emerging markets in Bloomberg’s London office. This is his second stay in Chile, as he opened the company’s first office in the country in 1992 and worked there as a reporter until his transfer to London. Sanders has a degree in economics from Manchester University.
