Rafael Casas-Don
Rafael Casas-Don is the vice president of market access for Medtronic Latin America. In this capacity he oversees the company’s strategy to bring Medtronic’s life-saving medical technologies to an increasing number of patients across the region, leading the deployment and successful leveraging across different areas, such as Government Affairs, Strategic Marketing and Communications, Health Economics, among others. Rafael is a member of Medtronic’s regional team helping to transform healthcare systems from traditional fee-for service schemes towards new value- driven business partnerships and models. Prior to joining Medtronic, he led Baxter Healthcare’s Public Affairs and Market Access function, where he built strong leadership in areas of strategic communications, corporate reputation and branding, media relations, among others. Before this, Rafael served as Burson-Marsteller’s Latin America’s Healthcare Practice Chair and led the agency’s operations in Mexico and Puerto Rico as general manager and market leader. Prior to joining Burson-Marsteller, he was public affairs manager and senior legal counsel for Procter & Gamble at their Latin America Headquarters in Venezuela. Rafael holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. in Politics from Brandeis University.
