PhD in economics with experience in research, consultancy, policy making, health, education, journalism. Has been vice minister of Social Protection in Colombia, researcher at Harvard and at Fedesarrollo, editor of business and economics at Semana magazine and founding director of PROESA (think tank in health economics and policy). Has served as board member of organizations in the financial, social and technology sectors, and Dean of the School of Economics and Finance at Universidad Icesi in Colombia. Currently serves as Principal Specialist of the Social Protection and Health Division of the Inter-American Development Bank.
