Rodrigo Medina de la Cruz is the current governor of the Mexican state of Nuevo León. Prior to being elected governor in July 2009, he held several positions within the Government of Nuevo León. Governor Medina previously served as general secretary of government, technical secretary to the Committee on Intelligence and Security, as well as undersecretary of Citizen and Religious Affairs. In addition to working in the state government, he was also elected as federal deputy in the LX legislature, where he presided over the Commission on Public Safety. Previously he served as an official for the Ministry of the Interior and a deputy to the National Institute on Migration. Governor Medina received a Bachelor’s degree in licensing and juridical sciences at the Universidad Regiomontana and later received his Master’s degree in international corporate law at the University of Miami.
