Roque Calleja leads BlackRock's Alternatives Specialist Team (AST) for the Americas Institutional Business, driving client strategy and distribution efforts for alternatives in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.

Previously, Roque served as Head of the Alternatives Business for Latin America, positioning BlackRock as a leading alternative investment manager in the region. Before that, Roque was Head of the Institutional Client Business (ICB) and alternatives distribution in Mexico from 2014 to 2019.

Roque joined BlackRock in 2009 as part of the iShares business in Madrid and relocated to New York in 2012 to lead the Latin America offshore wealth business. Over a 14+ year tenure at BlackRock, Roque has led teams across various markets and client segments, focusing on long-term growth opportunities.

Before BlackRock, Roque worked as a market risk analyst at Bankinter in Madrid and began a career at Ivy Asset Management in London as a hedge fund product specialist. Roque holds a BA in Business Administration and a Master's in Corporate Strategy from Francisco de Vitoria University, a degree in Alternative Investments and Hedge Funds from IEB University, and a Master's in Infrastructure Investing from ITAM.
