Ruth Dowling
Ruth Dowling is senior vice president and general counsel for Latin America and EMEA at American Tower Corporation (ATC). She oversees all legal matters and government affairs activities in ATC's 18 markets in Latin America and EMEA. Dowling joined ATC in 2011 as a senior vice president in the corporate legal group and was responsible at various times for the oversight of material litigation including employment matters, the securities and finance legal function, regulatory affairs, and assisting with substantial mergers and acquisitions in the US business. She also served as counsel to the American Tower Charitable Foundation and as secretary to the Audit Committee of the ATC Board of Directors. Prior to joining ATC, Dowling was a partner and co-chair of the 150-member litigation department at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP, where she specialized in complex commercial and antitrust matters. She was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving a BA in English with honors. Dowling attended the Duke University School of Law, graduating with high honors. After graduating, she clerked for the Honorable Fred I. Parker of the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
