Sofía Belmar Berumen
Sofía Belmar Berumen is the country manager of MetLife Mexico. She currently chairs the Board of Directors of MetLife Mexico, MetLife Pensiones Mexico, MetLife Mas and MetLife Mexico Foundation Board. She started her career at MetLife in 2010 as vice president of marketing, also she has served as senior vice president of business development and distribution, responsible for promoting the diversification and growth of the company toward new market segments, including private and alternative channels. Prior to joining MetLife, she served as the executive director of marketing and director of market analysis for GNP. She also held several positions in the commercial area focused on the development of distribution channels, strategy, product development, competitive advantages, marketing, CRM, training, and communication. In 2018 she was invited join the UN Development Program (UNDP), Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) initiative as spokeswoman for the private sector, where she leads the private sector in the accomplishments of the SDG. She holds a B.A. in actuarial science from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), an M.A. in administration from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM) and a Business Leadership Program at Harvard University, as well as the Harvard Manage Mentor Diploma. she has also attended CRM Program at Duke University (Fuqua School of Business), Digital Marketing at ITAM, IT for Non-IT Executives at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and studied a marketing specialization at the UNAM.
