Tatiana Clouthier has been Minister of the Economy of Mexico since January, 2021. She has been twice a congresswoman, most recently from 2018-2020 where she acted as deputy coordinator of the MORENA caucus and previously from 2003-2006. Clouthier was campaign manager for President Andrés Manuel López Obrador during the 2018 elections. Previously she worked at the municipal and state government level in Nuevo Léon for twelve years. As an academic, Clouthier has been a Professor in Mexico and has been a speaker at institutions abroad such as the University of Berkeley in California, and the London School of Economics in the United Kingdom. In 2010 she founded Evolución Mexicana, a non-profit that aims to promote citizen participation and accountability. She has written five books. Clouthier holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Autonomous University of Nuevo León and a Bachelor’s in English Language from ITESM.
