Vivianne Rodrigues
Vivianne Rodrigues is the Bloomberg News executive editor for Emerging Markets, a position she has held since the start of 2023. She oversees a team of 22 reporters and editors across the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America as well as London and New York, directing and organizing coverage of major market-moving events. Ms. Rodrigues started her journalism career at Bloomberg in São Paulo, prior to moving to New York as an Emerging Markets and US Treasuries reporter. In 2005, she moved to Thomson Reuters and then joined the Financial Times, where she wrote extensively on government and corporate finances.
Throughout her career, Ms. Rodrigues has covered major political and financial stories shaping the landscape of global financial markets, including Argentina's debt default, the Great Recession, the impeachment of Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff and more recently, the UK crises of 2022, Turkey's elections and Israel's judicial overhaul. She holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University in New York and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Catholic University of São Paulo, Brazil. She is based in New York and speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
