Zuna Maza

Assistant Curator, El Museo del Barrio

Zuna Maza is a curator from San Juan, Puerto Rico, right now based in Brooklyn, New York. Her curatorial focus is largely devoted to contemporary practices with a particular interest in installation, multimedia, and material-focused practices. Currently, Maza is assistant curator at El Museo del Barrio in New York. She is co-curator of Candida Alvarez: Circle, Point, Hoop, Alvarez’s first museum survey and her first solo presentation in New York since 1993. Prior to joining El Museo, she held curatorial roles and fellowships at Dia Art Foundation, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Studio Museum in Harlem. Maza is one of the editors of Delcy Morelos (2024), published by Dia Art Foundation on the occasion of Morelos’s commission Delcy Morelos: El abrazo at Dia Chelsea, from October 5, 2023 to July 20, 2024. She received her MA from Hunter College.
