BRAVO Leadership Conversation: Powering AI in the Americas

AES's Andrés Gluski and AWS's Shannon Kellogg explore how AI is transforming industries and impacting regulation.

Speakers:

  • Andrés Gluski, President & CEO, The AES Corporation and Chairman, AS/COA
  • Shannon Kellogg, Vice President of Public Policy, Americas, Amazon Web Services

“We're trying to be innovative and creative across the company as we try to achieve these goals that will take us to carbon neutrality,” says Shannon Kellogg of Amazon Web Services in a BRAVO Leadership Conversation. In conversation with Andrés Gluski of The AES Corporation, he discusses the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence (AI) in the Americas.

The dialogue addresses the intersection of AI and energy, exploring how the burgeoning technology can help meet the growing demand for clean energy in data centers, optimize operations, and enable the transition to sustainable energy solutions. “The growth of AI—and the data centers it needs—is making the system grow at rates that it hasn’t grown since the sixties [in the United States],” explains Gluski.

This conversation between AS/COA's chairman and a COA board member was recorded at Americas Society's 680 Park headquarters in New York City.
