“Today we are getting more data and stronger processing power for free,” said Haim Israel of Bank of America. In a keynote at the 2024 Council of the Americas Symposium, Israel spotlighted how two of those technologies—generative AI and quantum computing—will transform industries.

Generative AI, Israel explained, will be "the biggest technological revolution we’ve ever seen." He outlined how the technology will reshape sectors. He also spotlighted healthcare as one area where generative AI could produce major advance in medicine and customized healthcare. "We have to start thinking about when generative AI will outsmart the human brain," he said.

Combined with quantum computing, generative AI has the potential to speed up calculations and lower their costs. In sum, Israel said, "The things that are happening this year are about to change the world forever."
