Video Q&A: GM's Jaime Ardila on Women Advancing in the Private Sector
Jaime Ardila was the first man to participate as a panelist at AS/COA Women's Hemispheric Network conferences. He spoke about how leaders in Latin America's private sector can make a difference when creating opportunities for women to reach leadership positions. For Ardila, today's gender biases does not happen in the same way as in the past. In the video above, he speaks of women taking on leadership roles and proving themselves to perform better than men in many cases. At the same time, today the barriers are almost invisible: "there is a second step, a more subconscious discrimination of women, a certain condescending attitute that women have weakenesses that we need to protect and that we need to address. And we need to overcome that," he explains.
