The Americas Society's exhibition "highlights the dialogues and exchanges between artists and their peers," says the art website.

The newspaper says that El Dorado: Myths of Gold "confirms the valuable scholarly work being done by small institutions outside the mainstream."

"Mexico has been very active and served as a buffer between the United States and at least Central America," said AS/COA's Carin Zissis to Axios. 

"Anyone with any memory is skeptical," said AS/COA's Brian Winter to Associated Press.

The director and chief curator of art at Americas Society is included in the publication's "Curators to Watch" article.

"China under Xi Jinping has been keen to develop relations with Mexico," said AS/COA's Eric Farnsworth to the Financial Times.
