Julián Ventura, former Mexican deputy secretary of foreign affairs, will discuss his country's current political climate, trade outlook, and relations with the rest of North America.

Please join the Council of the Americas for a members-only, off-the-record discussion with Julián Ventura, who served as deputy secretary of foreign affairs of Mexico from December 2018 to January 2020 and was Mexico's Sherpa to the G20.
Ventura will discuss Mexico's current political climate and its trade outlook. He'll also touch upon the state of North American relations and other key relationships for Mexico.
Ambassador Ventura joined the Mexican Foreign Service in 1990 and was appointed to the rank of Career Ambassador in 2006. He has served as undersecretary for North American affairs (2009–2012), ambassador to the United Kingdom (2017–2018), ambassador to the People’s Republic of China (2013–2017), and deputy chief of mission in Washington, DC (2007–2009).
