The Outlook for Cuba's Private Sector in 2025
As part of the Cuba Working Group, this off-the-record conversation will discuss private enterprise, regulations, and foreign trade.
Overview
AS/COA's Cuba Working Group (CWG) will host an in-person, private, off-the-record discussion in Miami led by a prominent Cuban business leaders from the island's private sector. The program will feature Cuban entrepreneurs sharing insights on the latest developments in the country's legal framework, the private sector landscape, and the day-to-day realities of medium, small, and micro businesses on the island.
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MIPYMES) are transforming Cuba's economy, with innovative entrepreneurs driving progress despite significant challenges. Officially recognized by the Cuban government in 2021, MIPYMES have become key job creators, importing and producing a wide range of goods and services despite having to navigate complex regulations, foreign exchange difficulties, and lack of access to US banks.
