Overview
AS/COA Miami will host a private briefing featuring Francisco Barbosa, former attorney general of Colombia (2020-2024). A the event, he will share insights into Colombia's political dynamics, its relations with neighboring countries, and its future outlook.
Barbosa's tenure was marked by efforts to strengthen rule of law and anti-corruption policies to foster a more transparent, fair, and competitive business environment. Barbosa also worked on enhancing legal frameworks and regulatory measures. This included promoting reforms that would affect how businesses operate, ensuring they adhere to legal and ethical standards.
Barbosa was a 2024 spring senior leadership fellow at the Florida International University (FIU) Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom. He recently joined FIU as a professor.
