Overview

This meeting marked Admiral Alvin Holsey’s first engagement with private sector leaders since his appointment as commander of the United States Southern Command (SouthCom) in November 2024. Admiral Holsey discussed SouthCom's key priorities and its efforts to address shared challenges, strengthen partnerships, counter threats, and build its team to enhance regional security and stability. 

SouthCom is the joint military command in the U.S. Department of Defense, responsible for contingency planning, operations, and security cooperation in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. SOUTHCOM supports U.S. national security objectives to ensure the Western Hemisphere remains secure, free, and prosperous.
