Julie Chung

Julie Chung currently serves as the acting assistant secretary of the State Department’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA).

Chung became the principal deputy assistant secretary in WHA in November 2018. She was previously the director for Japan in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs and the acting deputy assistant secretary from February–September 2018. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, class of minister-counselor, she held positions as the deputy chief of mission in Cambodia and economic counselor in Thailand.

César Bernal

Cesar Bernal is currently the director of CathLab in North Latin America at Medtronic. He’s held several leadership positions within Medtronic, including general manager of Medtronic operations in Peru; director of surgical Innovations and early technologies based in Mexico City. Previously, Bernal was an executive at Johnson & Johnson based in Mexico City where he was corporate business executive manager; key distribution manager, country sales manager and marketing manager.

Carolina Bogado Gomez

Carolina Bogado Gomez has more than 20 years of experience in human resources. She is currently the human resources director for Microsoft Mexico, where she is focusing on cultural and digital transformation. She recently won HR Star awards for demonstrating excellence in Microsoft's cultural attributes: making a difference, growth mindset and one microsoft. Carolina began her professional career in Venezuela with the multinational company British American Tobacco (BAT).

Ricardo Zúniga

Ricardo Zúniga, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, is Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary and special envoy for the Northern Triangle. He leads U.S. diplomatic efforts, advises the secretary and acting assistant secretary for the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, and coordinates closely with the National Security Council staff on the administration’s comprehensive efforts to stem irregular migration to the United States and implement President Biden’s multi-year, $4 billion to address root causes of migration in Central America.

Ricardo Maduro

Ricardo Maduro is a former president of Honduras from 2002 to 2006 representing the National Party of Honduras (PNH). He was president of the Central Bank of Honduras and coordinator of the Economic Cabinet. He was elected as congressman to the Central American Parliament and participated as candidate for a seat in the National Congress of Honduras. Born on April 20, 1946, he achieved his degree in economics from Stanford University, California, in 1969. He has extensive business experience, which begins as general manager of Xerox in Honduras.

Martha Bárcena was born in Veracruz, on March 2nd, 1957. Married to Agustín Gutiérrez Canet (career diplomat), she has two daughters: Mercedes and Martha. She has a bachelor’s degree in communication studies (Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City), and in philosophy (Pontificia Universitá Gregoriana, Rome). Has also studied a master’s degree in diplomatic studies (Diplomatic School, Spain) and a master of philosophy specializing in political philosophy (Universidad Iberoamericana). Kevin K. McAleenan

Kevin K. McAleenan was designated as the acting secretary of Homeland Security by President Trump on April 8, 2019. Before this appointment, he served as commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), having been confirmed by the U.S. Senate in March 2018. Previously, he had served as CBP acting commissioner since January 2017.

Yasser González Cabrera

Yasser González Cabrera is as a social impact entrepreneur with seven years of experience in the city bike tourism sector who runs a local bike business in Havana called Citykleta, founded in 2017.
