"I don't think anyone in Latin America has ties to Silicon Valley like the Argentines do," said AS/COA President and CEO Susan Segal as she kicked off the November 6 event convening CEOs and government officials to discuss Argentina's growing digital economy. Executives from Grupo ASSA, Viacom, and Neoris shared their respective companies' projects in the sector and how each is taking advantage of Argentina's strong entrepreneurial system and human capital. Government representatives Jorge Aguado and Carlos Palloti each gave their own keynotes highlighting the current government's initiatives in the digital space. In particular, President Mauricio Macri's moves to lower labor and income taxes will be beneficial to the sector, said Palloti, as well as the reduction in red tape around creating new companies.
